US Budget Deficit Jumps Sharply
The US budget deficit soared 19% in July to $291B, despite an extra $21B in revenue from higher import tariffs — which have pushed up prices on goods like furniture, shoes, and auto parts.
So far in 2025, the deficit has hit $1.63T, up 7% from the same period last year.
