📢 Warning from the Ethereum Foundation Director regarding the delay of the Fusaka upgrade
Co-CEO of the Ethereum Foundation, Tomasz Stanczak, warned that the launch dates for the Fusaka upgrade may be at risk, urging core teams to postpone discussions on the Glamsterdam upgrade and focus on finishing the work on Fusaka.
🗣️ In a statement via platform X, Stanczak explained that poor coordination could jeopardize the scheduled date in Q4 2025, noting that discussing the Ethereum roadmap is pointless if the timeline is not adhered to.
📅 According to developer meeting notes, the release of consensus layer clients is expected to be delayed until late September, which may put pressure on the mainnet upgrade process ahead of the Devconnect conference in November.
🔹 Currently, tests are being conducted on private Fusaka networks (devnets), while public testnets have not yet been opened.
🔹 The Glamsterdam upgrade, initially scheduled for 2026, will include separating the proposal from the builder at the protocol level and adding block-level access lists.
🔹 The Ethereum Foundation has reorganized its research and development structure to improve coordination between client teams.
❓ Discussion question:
Do you think that the delay of the Fusaka upgrade could negatively affect the price of Ethereum in the short term? 🤔
