🚀 A16Z is taking action! Microstrategy 2.0 is here!!!
This time the protagonist is $IP , also known as Korea's Story Protocol.
VCs have clearly figured out a new way to play, and it's the "Microstrategy 2.0" version.
Unlike the previous $ENA's "shell acquisition" tactic, this time they are directly collaborating with a distillery company, Heritage Distilling Holding Company (Nasdaq: CASK).
That's right, a distillery 😂, which has been awarded the "most awarded craft distillery in North America" for 10 consecutive years.
There are so many cheap stocks in the US market; you pick one, package a concept, and with some capital operation, you can immediately create a story.
The financing details are quite interesting:
Total amount: $220 million
$100 million in cash → equity transfer
$120 million in $IP tokens (fixed price of $3.4)
The lineup of investors is luxurious: a16z, Story Foundation, dao5, Amber Group, Hashed, Polychain, etc.
Now $IP has risen to $6,
and the foundation has directly committed — 100% of the money from token sales will be used to repurchase $IP, to be executed within 90 days.
Let me clarify this convoluted logic for everyone:
CASK exchanged equity + tokens for $220 million.
What VCs have in hand is CASK stock.
So, is this wave mainly promoting the token or the stock?
In my view, CASK's K-line is currently at the bottom, and the answer is already very clear.
The bigger highlight is —
This is the first time mainstream investors can access IP and programmable IP economy directly through the US stock market.
CASK will use $82 million to buy $IP from Story Foundation at a fixed price of $3.4,
and Story Foundation will use the entire amount to buy back $IP in the market.
Behind the IP is an asset class valued at $80 trillion,
linked to licensing, royalties, ownership, and data sources in the AI era.
This model is essentially using the fundamentals of the real economy to support a new class of digital assets.
A16Z's move is not just testing the waters; it might be opening a new avenue.
"Cheap US stocks + token repurchase + narrative packaging," this microstrategy could directly upgrade from a trend to a capital hurricane.
