I found that some people just want to short when the price goes up, and then when they short, they start to hold on. After holding for a long time, when they are finally close to breaking even, they immediately close their position. Then they feel that the price has dropped enough, so they go long again and continue to hold on. This is a typical mindset of a novice trader.
Repeatedly doing this, in the end, they are either on the path of holding to break even or still on the path of holding to break even. Occasionally, there might be a little profit, but those instances are few and far between, and before they even experience the joy of profit, they start to feel anxious again.
Promise me that when you want to short, you will go long, and when you want to go long, you will short. This way, you'll win.
