Cardano's DJED Stablecoin Transitions to Private and Open-Source
DJED, the Cardano stablecoin, is transitioning to a private and open-source system, with an emphasis on privacy and security. It is being transformed into a multi-chain asset, underpinning both open and private finance. COTI, a privacy-focused Layer 1, announced key parts of its infrastructure are being open-sourced, enabling developers to build around it. This will allow software engineers to integrate the stablecoin’s functionality into wallets or decentralized apps (dApps), while also running secure backend services. Alongside this, a private version of DJED is being introduced.
This private iteration will be suitable for organizations and individuals who prioritize privacy, with transactions remaining confidential. The Cardano chain currently hosts DJED’s infrastructure, but the private version will prepare it for the next adoption wave, allowing users to control their transactions.
