The 2025 Business Influence Rankings Are Out: Jensen Huang Takes the Top Spot, Wang Chuanfu and Ren Zhengfei Make the Top Ten
On August 5 local time, Fortune magazine released the list of the 100 most influential business leaders in the world for 2025, with NVIDIA founder and CEO Jensen Huang topping the list for the first time.
Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella and Meta founder Mark Zuckerberg ranked second and third; last year's number one, Elon Musk, slipped to fourth.
The top ten also includes Google CEO Sundar Pichai, JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon, and General Motors CEO Mary Barra, representing finance and traditional manufacturing.
Looking at the entire list, the AI and semiconductor industries dominate this year's rankings. In addition to Jensen Huang's first-time top spot, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman also entered the top ten for the first time.
Moreover, the number of female leaders in the list increased to 19, including AMD CEO Lisa Su and Citigroup CEO Jane Fraser, showcasing progress in the diversity of business leadership.
Notably, Chinese entrepreneurs also performed impressively on the list. BYD Chairman Wang Chuanfu and Huawei founder Ren Zhengfei both made it into the top ten, ranking fifth and seventh respectively, achieving the best historical performance for Chinese entrepreneurs on this list.
Additionally, six more Chinese entrepreneurs made it into the top 100, including Xiaomi founder Lei Jun (16th), Tencent founder Pony Ma (25th), CATL founder Zeng Yuqun (30th), ByteDance founder Zhang Yiming (43rd), and Hong Kong Stock Exchange CEO Nicolas Aguzin (53rd), reflecting the growing global influence of Chinese businesses.
It is also noteworthy that Liang Wenfeng, founder of Chinese AI company DeepSeek, ranked 72nd in his first appearance on the list, indicating China's rapid rise in the field of artificial intelligence.
