In the crypto world, we all agree on one thing: Bitcoin is king. It's digital gold, a bulwark against inflation, and a spiritual totem for us all. But let's be honest, this king is a little... lazy.
For years, our biggest hope for Bitcoin has been to "HODL" and pray for its appreciation. While Ethereum is playing with DeFi, staking, and re-staking, squeezing the value of a single ETH to its limit, our BTC seems to have nothing to do except sit quietly in a cold wallet.
Various Bitcoin "second-layer networks" and cross-chain bridges have come and gone, but they've always felt a bit lacking. They're either insecure, have poor ecosystems, or simply repackage Bitcoin and throw it into the world of Ethereum's DeFi as a supporting role.
