SEC and Ripple agree to withdraw appeals

The SEC and Ripple have agreed to end their long legal battle. As part of the agreement, Ripple will pay a civil fine of $125 million, and in return, the SEC will withdraw its appeal. This ends a dispute of more than four years that has kept the cryptocurrency market in suspense and sets an important precedent for the regulation of cryptoassets in the future. Ripple's CEO, Brad Garlinghouse, confirmed that the company will also withdraw its cross-appeal.
