From last 3 months, Ethereum $ETH purchases by institutions nearly matched those of ETFs, each accumulating around 1.6% of ETH circulating supply.
Ethereum treasury companies have already accumulated around 2 M ETH in a year, and they acquired 545k ETH in the past month alone. Standard Chartered predicted another 10 Million ETH could be added in the future.
More and more publicly traded companies are joining the ranks. As of August , 12 publicly listed companies are holding more than 1 million ETH combined.
In late July, the SEC approved in-kind creation and redemption mechanisms for crypto ETFs, allowing them to operate more like traditional commodity ETFs. Regulatory improvements are still coming, and they will attract more institutional investments.
