What you need to know about the Shiba Inu elections
Shytoshi Kusama announced on Tuesday that the upcoming elections will appoint an interim president and establish the foundational councils of the DAO. These newly elected officials will be responsible for overseeing the multi-billion dollar token economy and managing administrative and technical changes within the Shiba Inu ecosystem.
According to the statement, anyone from the community can run for interim president. Candidates will submit detailed profiles and the top ten will be selected after a review process. It is also worth mentioning that voting will be token-based, allowing holders of SHIB, BONE, TREAT, or LEASH to cast their votes; each token equals one vote. This milestone comes after the meme giant celebrated its fifth anniversary.
These finalists will share their visions and goals during a live debate. The final voting will take place a week later, after the community has voted to select the top three candidates. The winner will need to pass a KYC verification and sign a confidentiality agreement to take office.
