💥¡Alert HODLers de $ADA ! Ledger Blocks the Airdrop "Glacier Drop" of #Cardano and Hoskinson Responds

Users who store their ADA tokens in Ledger hardware wallets missed out on the massive airdrop "Glacier Drop" from the Midnight network.

What’s the reason? A technical incompatibility that has sparked great debate in the community.

Charles Hoskinson himself, founder of Cardano, confirmed the issue.

The conflict lies in the CIP-8 standard, which allows signing messages. Ledger wallets limit this signature to 31 bytes, while the airdrop requires 251 bytes. A difference that left thousands of users unable to claim their NIGHT tokens!

The Solution: A "Phantom" Transaction 👻

To resolve this, the Cardano team has proposed a temporary solution: a null transaction. This operation does not move funds but carries the airdrop information (the 251 bytes) as metadata. Thus, the Ledger wallet can process the signature, and users will be able to claim their tokens safely.

The Glacier Drop portal will be updated to include this solution, and those affected will have up to two months to participate.

This incident demonstrates that the crypto world is in constant evolution and that technical challenges are part of the game. What’s important is that the community and developers work together to find solutions.
