Ripple's Chief Technology Officer David Schwartz stated in his interview that the XRP Ledger (XRPL) is a fully decentralized network. According to him, the system has over 150 independent validators around the world, ensuring the absence of a single control center. This makes XRPL resistant to censorship and 51% attacks, unlike some other blockchains.

Schwartz emphasized that the decentralization of XRPL is confirmed by the distribution of nodes in 40 countries, including the USA, Japan, and Switzerland. This structure guarantees high transaction speeds — up to 1,500 operations per second — and low fees, amounting to less than $0.0002. These characteristics make XRPL attractive for international payments and DeFi projects.

Schwartz's comments came amid discussions about cryptocurrency regulation, where decentralization is a key argument. Ripple actively promotes XRPL as an environmentally friendly alternative, with energy consumption 100,000 times lower than Bitcoin. Experts believe this could strengthen $XRP 's position in the market, where its price currently stands at $2.15.
