Dormant #BTC Awakens:
In 2024, over 255,000 BTC that had been dormant for 7+ years were reactivated and moved back into circulation.
In 2025, more than 214,000 such coins have already been moved — and we’re likely to surpass 2024’s total by year-end.
This large-scale awakening of long-dormant coins appears strongly tied to rising institutional and corporate interest in Bitcoin.
Many of these older coins are being used directly for OTC deals and liquidity provisioning.
Note: this reactivation trend is significantly higher than anything seen in the past 5 years.
