It has come time to trace the entire path that Dony has taken (from '500% tariffs against all' to 25% against selected ones, and even then with huge exceptions).
At first, it all sounded ominous. The USA would impose 500% tariffs against countries that purchase oil and petroleum products from Russia. Then, it transformed into 100% tariffs. After that, he granted a delay until autumn. And finally, he 'suddenly declared' that there would be no more delays and... imposed 25% tariffs against India (with huge exceptions for the most popular Indian goods). With a 21-day delay (clearly inviting negotiation).
The threat towards China looks downright ridiculous given that there are currently ongoing negotiations between the two countries. And each side has an undeniable economic club against the other. Therefore, they are simply doomed to reach an agreement. And no 'Russian oil' will be an obstacle here.
Although, of course, Trump, in his characteristic populist manner, will declare any outcome of negotiations with China (even 10% tariffs) as sanctions against Russia.
But even that moment is not the most interesting. Personally, the most important marker for me is TURKEY. It purchases more Russian oil and petroleum products (plus gas) than India. And regarding it, Trump says absolutely nothing. Moreover, Turkey, having no agreement with the USA, has the lowest tariffs (10%) and calmly (to its great benefit) resells a mass of Russian goods around the world.
And this is very, very symptomatic. It also shows how 'seriously' Trump is set on economically fighting Russia.
