Have you ever thought that despite working so hard and earning so much, you still can’t save?

Why does your money never stay with you?

Welcome to neoliberal governance, a system that benefits governments but not ordinary people.

Born out of the Cold War and Milton Friedman’s 1976 theory, it declares that governments exist not for welfare, but only for profit.

Since the IMF came into Pakistan, state institutions have been privatized, subsidies removed, and taxes placed on every sector.

Now, if you want education, healthcare, or transport, you must earn and pay the private sector.

All the pressure is on your earning. If you don’t earn, you are considered useless, expected to fund the private sector and pay full taxes.

Yet religion teaches that sustenance is in Allah’s control, not in this system’s.

You are left with two choices. Reduce your needs and live simply, or force your wife, mother, and daughter to work.

This is the Dajjalic system, one that keeps creating new problems.

Until Pakistan decides whether it is socialist, democratic, or Islamic, and until this system changes, savings will remain impossible and life will not improve.
