#Ripple CTO Invites Caitlin Long to Fact-Based Discussion on XRP, XRPL, and RLUSD. Meanwhile, members of the XRP community came out to refute Long’s claims. Joining the conversation, Ripple CTO David Schwartz offered to discuss the facts about the company, RLUSD, XRPL, and its native token. “I’m available to discuss the facts about Ripple, RLUSD, the XRP Ledger, and XRP,” Schwartz said. Schwartz seeks to address Caitlin Long’s centralized claims while also providing clarity on XRP’s tokenomics. Meanwhile, he called her attention to some basic facts provided by prominent community figure Vet. Notably, Vet addressed some misconceptions in Long’s recent critique. First, he emphasized that Ripple never conducted an ICO, noting that the entire 100 billion XRP supply was deposited into a genesis account during the launch of XRPL. However, Ethereum launched through an ICO, with initial investors paying Bitcoin in exchange for ETH. Contrary to Long’s centralization claims, Vet stressed the XRP Ledger is decentralized, with several individuals running up to 1,000 nodes on the network. He also said Ripple uses the XRPL and has already launched its stablecoin on the blockchain. Finally, Vet highlighted that the XRP Ledger has made significant progress over the years, enhancing its functionalities via amendments. Mickle, another notable voice in the XRP community, also shared a similar sentiment. He pointed out that the XRPL team created the network before XRP was sold and that Ethereum conducted the first ICO in crypto history. Shiba Inu community members can vote for their preferred candidate using any of the ecosystem tokens, such as SHIB, BONE, TREAT, and LEASH. Each token is equivalent to one vote. The interim president will be tasked with launching the first-ever multi-DAO Congress, comprising four DAO councils. Additionally, the president will also oversee the administrative and technical transition of Shiba Inu’s infrastructure, in line with the guidelines outlined in the Shib Paper. Lastly, the president will be the steward of the multi-billion-dollar Shiba Inu ecosystem. The election timetable has not yet been unveiled. Kusama disclosed that the team will soon share the details. Notably, the development comes several months after Kusama disclosed stepping down as the visionary leader of the Shiba Inu project. The upcoming election has elicited reactions among Shiba Inu community members, with Shibarium developer Kaal Dhairya sharing his opinion about the initiative. According to Kaal, Shiba Inu was designed to foster true decentralization. This ensures that no single entity has significant control over the ecosystem. While he acknowledged the growing demand to break up the ecosystem into bits, Kaal called on the community to embrace a broader perspective. He stated that the beauty of Shiba Inu lies in its multi-token system. In his view, the ecosystem tokens complement each other. #Cardano Founder Amazed as 11,000 Addresses Across 8 Blockchains Claim 250M NIGHT Tokens Within Hours. Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson has taken to X to celebrate the strong user participation in the ongoing Midnight’s Glacier Drop. The Cardano founder expressed amazement at the progress of the Glacier Drop, which has seen a high level of user participation. He pointed out that there are already 11,000 redemptions for 250 million NIGHT tokens since the Glacier Drop launched. This suggests that at least 11,000 addresses across eight blockchains, including Cardano and XRPL, have collectively claimed 250 million NIGHT tokens so far, showing massive participation in the first stage of Midnight’s airdrop. Since the claim portal went live, Hoskinson has been updating the crypto community about the claim progress. Three hours after the Glacier Drop launch, he stated that 4,300 blockchain addresses had claimed 77.04 million NIGHT tokens. In the hours leading up to press time, the Cardano founder suggested that participation had soared, with 11,000 addresses claiming 250 million tokens. Notably, users also took to X to share their experience in the Glacier Drop. Some said the process worked out nicely for them and have already claimed their tokens. However, others, especially eligible Cardano community members using Ledger wallets, are still having difficulty claiming NIGHT. The Midnight Foundation team and Hoskinson have already identified the issue, which stems from Ledger’s implementation of CIP-8 message signing. According to Hoskinson, Ledger’s protocol currently supports message signing of only 31 bytes, while the payload for the Glacier Drop is approximately 251 bytes—far exceeding Ledger’s current firmware limitations. Despite reaching out to Ledger to update its firmware last month, Hoskinson said the team behind the hardware wallet has yet to provide a timeline for the update. He confirmed that the Cardano team is deploying a “hack” that will enable eligible Cardano users to claim their NIGHT tokens. #Crypto
