B-Trust is looking for a part-time remote accountant to help strengthen the financial systems that powers its global Bitcoin open-source initiatives.
Btrust is a non-profit organization established to decentralize the development of Bitcoin software. Our mission is to build a more diverse and inclusive ecosystem by fostering developer talent in the Global South and strengthening the free and open-source Bitcoin ecosystem.
Founded through a generous donation from Jack Dorsey and Shawn Carter (Jay Z), Btrust is governed by an all-African board of directors and operates through a global team of dedicated staff.

B-Trust drives impact through three main pillars:
Developer Pipeline: Training and supporting developers through our flagship program, Btrust Builders.
Grants: Provided over $1.7 million in developer, education, and event grants to sustain open-source contributions worldwide.
Community Infrastructure: Supporting grassroots meetups (BitDevs) and technical events across Africa and beyond.

About the role
B-Trust is seeking a skilled accountant (part-time) to strengthen its financial systems and ensure sound financial reporting and management during our current critical phase of growth. The Accountant will help set up streamlined accounting processes, maintain accurate records, balance books, and ensure compliance with non-profit accounting standards.
This is a short-term contract (5 months) with the possibility of renewal, aimed at supporting Btrust as it scales programs and operations globally.
