Launched on August 4, the Chainlink Data Streams solution now provides real-time streams on major U.S. stocks and ETFs, including assets SPY, CRCL, QQQ, NVDA, AAPL, and MSFT. This crypto data includes:
▫️OHLC values;
▫️Volumes;
▫️Critical metadata such as trading times or market suspensions.
Available on over 37 crypto blockchains, they are designed to integrate directly with smart contracts. The tokenization of real assets, long hindered by the lack of reliable on-chain data, finds a solution here. As Chainlink explains:
"These data streams enable developers to create advanced on-chain applications using secure and low-latency market data for tokenized assets".
The immediate integration of Chainlink's market data for tokenized stocks by leading protocols such as GMX, Kamino, or GMX-Solana demonstrates its direct utility. It shifts the focus of synthetic assets in DeFi, which until now has been limited to cryptos. These streams now allow for the creation of indexed products on real assets, with accuracy and speed comparable to traditional markets.
By reducing access time to information to just a few milliseconds, Chainlink meets the performance demands of traders and DeFi developers. Protocols can today create collateralization mechanisms or insurance on stocks like Apple or Nvidia.
