#noticiascripto 🚨🔥Russia responded to President Donald Trump on Tuesday for threatening India over its oil trade, calling the POTUS's push to break its ties 'pathetic'.
Moscow, finally weighing in after days of silence, said that New Delhi had every right to decide with whom to do business and would not be pressured by threats from the White House.
The comments came after Trump said on CNBC's Squawk Box that he planned to drastically increase tariffs on Indian exports, warning that the current threshold of 25% could increase even further within 24 hours.
Trump said that India had been 'buying Russian oil' and 'feeding the war machine', adding: 'I am not going to be happy' if they continue to do so. He also accused India of reselling discounted oil from Moscow for 'huge profits' in the global market.
The Kremlin rejects pressure and supports India's free trade
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov responded on Tuesday by flatly rejecting Trump's threats. 'We do not consider such statements legitimate,' Peskov said during a conference, adding: 'These are attempts to force countries to stop trade relations with Russia.'
