Billionaire bought 5000 NFTs from Yuga Labs
Billionaire Adam Whitesman, founder of one of the largest metal recycling companies in the U.S., Upstate Shredding, announced that he purchased 5000 NFTs from the studio Yuga Labs. In this way, the entrepreneur aims to support the development of the gaming project Otherside.
The tokens purchased by Whitesman are Otherdeed (plots of virtual land in Otherside), Mega Koda, and Weapon Koda (characters). The billionaire also noted that he plans to make several acquisitions on the open market.
Let us remind you that Yuga Labs introduced Otherside in July 2022. It is a gaming metaverse with numerous declared entertainments, a space for exploration and collecting.
The universe of the project represents a vast archipelago, where each plot of virtual land constitutes an NFT. The gaming world is populated by Koda, which vary depending on the degree of rarity.
For instance, there are only 99 Mega Koda. The total volume of the collection is 10,000 NFTs. It should be noted that the game received mixed reviews, although it initially caused a stir in the community.
The exact terms of the deal are not disclosed, however, according to the entrepreneur, it involves "multimillion-dollar obligations." Whitesman also confirmed that he has acquired some of the rarest NFTs in his collection, including Chaos Deed and others.
