Perhaps you've been paying attention to reducing DOT inflation lately!
👀 However, there is a significant announcement you might have missed — @paritytech has announced that Polkadot Hub will soon support 100% EVM compatibility! This means simultaneous support for EVM + PVM!
1/
What exactly happened?
To accelerate the landing of high-quality Ethereum projects and third-party service providers (oracles, AML, indexers, etc.), Parity has decided:
✅ To pause other work (except for Asset Hub migration) and focus all efforts on a 100% EVM-compatible solution
✅ To plan for full EVM support (based on REVM) by the end of 2025
✅ To concurrently advance PVM toolchain development
2/
Why not just use PVM?
Although PVM is the future (supporting multiple languages and better performance), the current toolchain is not yet sufficient to support the migration of older Solidity contracts (such as CCTP).
So in the short term, we prioritize “getting it to run,” and in the long term, we will switch to PVM.

The development timeline is as follows:
✅ Currently: Kusama has launched the first phase of the PVM preview
🔜 September: Kusama will launch the second phase of the PVM preview, supporting ERC20 and basic XCM precompilation
🔜 Late October: Kusama Hub will launch the 100% EVM-compatible REVM
🔜 Mid-December: Polkadot Hub will launch the 100% EVM-compatible REVM, along with the PVM preview
4/
How was the tech stack chosen?
✅ Using REVM (fast, widely used by the community, audited)
✅ Pairing with pallet-revive to achieve a shared architecture for PVM/EVM dual stacks
✅ Precompilation (such as XCM) and cross-contract calls will support both EVM & PVM simultaneously
✅ All Solidity contracts can be seamlessly deployed using Hardhat/Foundry
✅ Dev Node natively supports the Anvil testing tool

Parity's official announcement is not only a tech stack upgrade but also a critical leap for BD collaboration and ecosystem landing!
Polkadot will fully unlock the migration path for Ethereum projects before the end of the year, while also laying a solid foundation for future switching to PVM.
We welcome everyone to follow the subsequent launch progress, and we will continue to keep you updated 🫡
