๐ In 2013, James Howells mistakenly threw away a hard drive containing more than 8,000 Bitcoin, and he has spent the last twelve years trying to recover it from a landfill site in Wales.
He put together expert teams, designed robotic search proposals, raised millions in funding, and fought city officials who repeatedly blocked access to the dump where he believes the drive still remains.
After years of planning and rejection, he says the search has come to an end, and he's letting go of the hope that he'll ever hold that hard drive again.
