Some say they don’t buy BTC because it’s 'too high', wondering 'how much more can it rise?' This logic seems reasonable at first glance, but it doesn't hold up under scrutiny.
You just need to ask one question: 'On what basis do you conclude it can’t rise much more?' This line of thinking existed ten years ago, five years ago, and still exists today. You will find that those who hold this view often share the same mindset. They speak with certainty but rarely make real profits. If their perspective is correct, why have they not profited? Conversely, why are those who hold BTC able to continuously accumulate wealth?
Some people advocate 'you must buy altcoins to earn more'. I dare say that those who say this have mostly never made big money. The root cause lies in mentality. An unstable mindset will discount any technique, information, or opportunity.
Wealth is a reflection of understanding. Understanding comes first, and wealth will follow, not easily deviating. Conversely, if wealth leads understanding too much, it is merely temporary custody — it will eventually be reclaimed by market fluctuations, project failures, or decision-making errors. There’s no need to blame the heavens or others; this is simply a 'mean reversion' after an imbalance between understanding and wealth.
Focus on the core issue:
Is it feasible to only buy BTC? Yes! The returns may not be less; it’s just that the rhythm may be steadier.
Is buying altcoins feasible? It varies from person to person. The key is the funding ratio! If you earn 2 million a year and risk 100,000, that's fine. But if you only have 1 million in principal and bet everything on altcoins, encountering severe fluctuations (like dropping to 600,000 in a few days), it's surprising if your mindset doesn't collapse. The problem lies in allocation — your understanding may not be able to bear this wealth. Perhaps you are only fit to manage 100,000, and the ultimate fate of altcoins going to zero or halving by 90% is exactly the filter.
Can I time the top? Technology can embellish, but it can also accelerate losses. If cognitive biases are present, good luck can offset technical advantages. Regardless, it cannot be denied: making money always involves an element of luck. And luck cannot be controlled.
True wisdom: the 'God mentality' and asset allocation
Investment requires an elevated way of thinking — looking at the market from a 'God's perspective.'
Insight into the rules: The total volume of virtual assets is expanding; this is an evident trend. In a bull market, even garbage coins can soar.
Rational allocation: Understanding the rules allows you to allocate investable assets: What percentage for BTC? What percentage for altcoins? What percentage for garbage coins?
Assess the coin before investing: Just like dealing with connections — when a benefactor calls, you must show respect; when someone you look down on seeks you out, naturally you will be indifferent. Similarly, you should allocate the majority to high-value assets (benefactors) and a small proportion to potential or garbage assets (bystanders); this is the optimal allocation of energy and capital.
Buy and leave it: mindset builds the foundation
The most critical step in investment is completed at the moment of purchase. You can observe prices, but avoid frequent operations. Over-trading often stems from an unstable mindset, swept away by market fluctuations — are you the only one sober while everyone else is drunk? No, operations made while being swept away will definitely become distorted, making it difficult to claim profits.
Garbage coins going to zero? Normal! Because you only allocated 'garbage-level' capital, it does not harm the foundation. A slight rise in core assets can easily cover this tuition fee.
Will garbage coins skyrocket? You can cash out to buy more 'big cakes' (BTC).
Is it easy to lose on altcoins? But you still need to buy (small allocation). What we rely on is strategy — not caring about the gains and losses in one city or pool. Following this strategy, even if temporarily losing, will eventually lead to overall profits. This is the 'way' of investment.
Garbage has its fate; why bother keeping an eye on it? Quality assets have their future and do not require your constant monitoring. A truly refined investment mindset is one of 'buying and leaving it be.' Having this calmness is a sign of success. The deeper the roots, the more lush the leaves; quietly waiting for the flowers to bloom.
