SEC Chairman Unveils Crypto-Friendly Regulatory Plans.

The head of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) announced a comprehensive plan on Thursday to reform capital markets regulations to better accommodate cryptocurrencies and blockchain-based trading.

SEC Chairman Paul Atkins revealed that he has instructed commission staff to develop guidelines that will help determine when crypto tokens should be classified as securities. The regulatory overhaul will also include proposals for various disclosures and exemptions related to digital assets.

This regulatory shift is a significant victory for the digital asset industry, which has long advocated for rules specifically tailored to cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology.
