⚠️ **New Scam Alert: "Digital Ruble" and Virtual Cards**
The Central Bank of Russia has uncovered fraudsters exploiting the hype around the digital ruble to steal money and card data.
**Scam Tactics:**
**1. Fake "Investments" in the Digital Ruble**
- Mass messages on social media/messaging apps promising "passive income" from the Central Bank.
- Fake websites mimicking official branding with the digital ruble logo.
- Urging victims to "join early while entry is still low."
**Fact:** No investment programs involving the digital ruble exist—it's still in testing.
**2. Card Theft via Malicious Apps**
- A call "from the bank": "Someone is trying to steal your money—download this 'security' app immediately."
- The app clones the card → victim is asked to tap the card to the phone and enter an SMS code.
- Once the code is obtained, fraudsters withdraw money via NFC ATMs.
**How to Stay Safe:**
- Banks **NEVER** ask you to install software or share personal data over the phone.
- Hang up on suspicious calls and dial the official number on your card.
- Never share SMS codes with anyone.
