Vitalik Buterin announces: There will be more than 400 transactions per second and the Ethereum network will be available on your phone!
At the “ETHKyiv 2025” conference, “Vitalik Buterin” and “Tomas K. Stankzak” announced significant technical progress in the Ethereum network, confirming the approach to 400 transactions per second (TPS) on the mainnet by the end of 2025, along with the possibility of running a full node on smartphones soon.
Buterin explained that “zkEVM” technologies will allow running nodes on light devices without the need for massive resources, significantly reducing the amount of data required and improving transaction verification efficiency while maintaining privacy.
For his part, “Stankzak” revealed that the “3-Slot Finality” system will be adopted in 2026, which will reduce transaction confirmation time to about 36 seconds only, bringing the Ethereum experience closer to the speed of traditional payments without compromising decentralization.
These developments represent an important boost for the Ethereum infrastructure, solidifying its position as a scalable and secure platform in the Web3 world.
