According to a TechFlow report on August 3, as reported by Cointelegraph, a recent report jointly released by Ripple, CB Insights, and the UK Blockchain Technology Center shows that Citigroup, JPMorgan Chase, Goldman Sachs, and Japan's SBI Group have become the most active representatives of traditional financial institutions supporting blockchain startups.
The report indicates that from 2020 to 2024, global banks have participated in 345 investments in blockchain companies, most of which are concentrated in the early financing stages. Among them, Citigroup and Goldman Sachs each completed 18 transactions, leading the entire industry; JPMorgan Chase and Mitsubishi UFJ followed closely behind, completing 15 investments respectively.
Among them, the 'super financing rounds' with amounts of 100 million dollars and above are the key areas for banks' layout. In the past four years, banks have participated in 33 such financings, with funding primarily directed towards companies focused on trading infrastructure, tokenization, custody, and payment solutions.
