Algorand Releases 2025+ Roadmap to Revitalize Ecosystem and Promote Blockchain Applications

The Algorand Foundation has released a 2025+ development roadmap aimed at bringing blockchain into everyday life and competing with rivals such as Solana and Ethereum.

CEO Staci Warden stated that the foundation is committed to building a digital infrastructure for the real economy, including self-sovereign identity, smart payments, and asset tokenization.

Key highlights include:

Project King Safety: Reshaping the protocol model, reforming fees and incentive mechanisms, with the goal of establishing a self-sustaining and secure system (to be gradually rolled out before 2026);

Governance Reform: By the third quarter of 2025, the funding program will be fully transitioned to community-led;

Algokit 4.0: A brand new smart contract development tool that combines AI and modular design, set to launch in 2026;

Asset Tokenization: Building debt and equity smart contract products that comply with ACTUS standards, with an MVP expected to go live in the fourth quarter of 2025.

Algorand intends to seize the opportunity in the wave of TradFi and DeFi integration, with the global asset tokenization market projected to reach $18.9 trillion by 2033.
