#EthereumTurns10
Congratulations to Ethereum on its 10th anniversary! Launched on July 30, 2015, this project has radically transformed the landscape of blockchain.
Originally, Ethereum was designed as a platform for creating decentralized applications (dApps). Unlike Bitcoin, which focuses on monetary transactions, Ethereum introduced the concept of smart contracts, self-executing programs that activate when predefined conditions are met.
Over the years, Ethereum has played a crucial role in the emergence of decentralized finance (DeFi), non-fungible tokens (NFTs), and decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs). These innovations have paved the way for a more open and intermediary-free internet, where users have greater control over their data and assets.
Although the network has faced challenges, particularly regarding scalability and transaction fees, it continues to evolve. The transition to Ethereum 2.0, also known as The Merge, has transformed its consensus mechanism, shifting from proof of work to proof of stake, making it more energy-efficient and effective.
Happy anniversary, Ethereum!
