#WhiteHouseDigitalAssetReport
The President's Working Group on Financial Markets has published a report, following an executive order from President Donald J. Trump, aiming to position the United States as a global leader in this area. The report serves as a "blueprint" for the future regulation of cryptocurrencies.
It proposes to grant the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) the authority to oversee spot markets for digital assets that are not securities. The document also suggests a regulatory framework for stablecoins, the modernization of banking regulations for digital assets, and the integration of decentralized finance (DeFi) technology. Furthermore, the report recommends that Congress legislate on the tax treatment of digital assets.
