Everyone in crypto loves to talk adoption.
But what we mostly have right now is accumulation and speculation. Not actual usage.

You can own BTC.
You can trade BTC.
But when it comes to using BTC in everyday life, that part is still wildly underdeveloped.

Why?

Because the average person doesn’t care about decentralization or hash rates.
They care about ease, speed, and practicality.

And the harsh truth is: Bitcoin isn't user-first yet.

➺ High fees during congestion
➺ Slow finality compared to newer chains
➺ Still not widely accepted by merchants
➺ Most people don’t even know Lightning Network exists, let alone how to use it

So what do we have?

➺ Holders: stacking sats like digital gold
➺ Traders: in it for volatility and quick flips
➺ Users: still extremely rare

Even in places like El Salvador where BTC is legal tender, the real use case never caught up to the hype.
Most people downloaded the Chivo wallet to claim the free $30, then dropped it.

If we’re serious about bringing the next billion into crypto, we can’t rely on hope or whitepapers.
We need real-world usability:

➺ Frictionless onboarding
➺ Apps that hide the complexity
➺ Incentives tied to usage, not just holding
➺ Systems that integrate Bitcoin into daily financial life

People adopt tech because it’s useful to them.

My take?
Until we prioritize the user journey, not just the narrative, Bitcoin adoption will remain a headline.

What do you think?
Have you ever used BTC for anything other than holding or trading?

Let’s be honest about where we are, and clear about what needs to change.
