Polychain Capital, an early investor in TIA, wanted to sell all of their remaining tokens — over 43 million TIA.
Instead of letting Polychain sell those tokens on the open market, the Celestia Foundation bought the tokens from them for $62.5 million.
Now, Celestia is reselling those tokens to new investors gradually, not all at once. The tokens will unlock slowly between August 16 and November 14, so the new investors can’t sell immediately.
Big sell pressure isn’t gone, it’s just delayed.
