#CryptoScamSurge

A few months ago, while exploring new projects in the crypto ecosystem, I came across a YouTube channel that was broadcasting a supposed live interview with Brad Garlinghouse, CEO of Ripple. The video had thousands of viewers, and on screen, a message invited viewers to send XRP to an address to double the amount as part of a "special community event." Everything seemed legitimate: the logo, the voice, even the graphics matched the official ones.

I was about to fall for it 😓. Just before sending, I decided to check the channel and discovered it had been created only 2 days earlier. It was not the official one. It was a wake-up call: even experienced users can fall victim if they let their guard down.

I learned to never trust broadcasts that promise easy money, even if they seem authentic. Always verify the sources, check the official networks, and be wary of any offers that sound too good to be true. Scams are evolving, and our best defense is education and caution.

Have you ever been close to falling into such a trap? Sharing it can help others.
