The lesson of 300,000 $ that I learned from waiting too long

Back in 2016–2017, I bought XRP for only $0.15. Shortly after, it shot up to nearly $2.00.

I was only 22 years old at the time. Instead of taking profits, I kept holding — not because I had a solid plan, but because I was swept up in the hype:

"Hold forever."

"To the moon."

"Only diamond hands."

If I had sold near the top, I could have made between 200,000 $ and $300,000. But I didn’t. I watched it crash and stay low for years.

$

Of course, XRP eventually recovered — but the opportunity cost was huge.

My mistake? I had belief, not strategy. Passion, not discipline.

Here’s what this experience taught me:

✅ Take profits on the way up

✅ Hype ≠ strategy

✅ If you don’t understand what you’re holding, every dip will shake you

Don’t let hype cloud your judgment. Be smart. Have a plan.
