🥬 Spinach & Feta Pastry Rolls 🧀
Golden, flaky, and stuffed with creamy spinach-feta filling—these are the ultimate savory crowd-pleasers.
It’s the kind of aroma that fills the kitchen like a warm breeze from a Greek garden at dusk.
Ingredients
For the Filling
300 g fresh spinach (or 200 g frozen, thawed and drained)
200 g feta cheese, crumbled
1 egg
1 garlic clove, finely grated
½ tsp dried oregano
Black pepper, to taste
For the Pastry
1 sheet puff pastry (250–275 g), thawed if frozen
1 egg yolk + 1 tbsp milk (for egg wash)
Optional: sesame seeds or nigella seeds for topping
Instructions
Each bite is flaky, warm, and oozing with herby feta and tender greens—the contrast is magic.
🥬 Prepare the Filling:
Sauté spinach in a dry pan until wilted. Let cool, then chop finely. Mix with crumbled feta, egg, garlic, oregano, and pepper.
🍥 Fill & Roll:
Roll out puff pastry on a floured surface into a large rectangle. Spread the spinach mixture evenly over one half, then fold the other half on top.
🔪 Slice & Shape:
Slice the folded pastry into strips (about 3–4 cm wide). Twist each strip gently or roll into logs, depending on your style.
🖌️ Brush & Top:
Place rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment. Brush with egg wash and sprinkle with sesame or nigella seeds if using.
🔥 Bake:
Bake at 200°C (390°F) for 20–25 minutes, or until puffed and golden. Serve warm or at room temperature.
