Telegram users in the US can now access an integrated cryptocurrency wallet

Telegram users in the US can now access the integrated cryptocurrency wallet (#Tonwallet ) directly within the messaging app. This wallet allows users to buy, sell, and send cryptocurrency directly, and was launched internationally in September 2023.

Expanding the market and enhancing user experience

TON Wallet was developed by The Open Platform – the first company in the ecosystem $TON to achieve unicorn status with a valuation of 1 billion USD. Irina Chuchkina, Growth Director of Wallet in Telegram, stated that the launch timing in the US was driven by the readiness to expand the product and market opportunities. Preparatory steps included listing Toncoin on Crypto.com and Kraken, along with integrating Moonpay for fiat currency conversion.

According to The Open Platform, this wallet has been activated by over 100 million global users last year. With 87 million users #Telegram in the US, the growth potential is significant. The TON Foundation, an organization supporting the development of The Open Network, believes that the launch of TON Wallet in the US is a major step towards bringing decentralized finance (DeFi) into everyday life, breaking down barriers and helping users access DeFi intuitively right within the familiar app.

US users will be able to stake and earn yields, along with 0% fees when purchasing cryptocurrency using Apple Pay, Google Pay, or credit cards via MoonPay. Although TON was previously paused in development in 2020 due to legal issues, it has been redeveloped by the community and is now continuing deep integration into Telegram.
