Based on the current bitcoin price of $118,000, SpaceX and Tesla have made a total profit of over $1.7 billion from their bitcoin investments. Tesla purchased $1.5 billion worth of bitcoin in January 2021 and sold bitcoin in two transactions: selling $272 million worth of bitcoin in the first quarter of 2021; and selling $936 million worth of bitcoin in the second quarter of 2022. The last time SpaceX transferred bitcoin before today was during the market downturn from May 25 to June 10, 2022, when SpaceX transferred 17,314 bitcoins to Coinbase.
