Today I lost everything I had earned in futures. It wasn't much (1 USDT in total), but it doesn’t hurt me. Why? Because I only used profits I had earned within Binance, and what I learned is worth much more than that dollar.

🔁 How did I lose it?

During the day I was making several small trades with BNB/USDC in futures. I opened and closed more than 8 times, switching between long and short as the price hit a ceiling or support. I was looking to gain little by little, but frequently.

I did well. I reached having 1 USDT with quick gains. But at night, I went to sleep without closing a position. The price dropped and I lost everything.

⚠️ What I learned (the hard way)

  1. You have to close the position yourself. If you leave without closing it, it can turn against you in minutes.

  2. The "Close Position" button is key. If you don’t hit it, you remain exposed to risk.

    Setting limits is essential.

  3. The "Invert Direction" button can save you. I used it several times when I saw the market going the other way. Switch from long to short (or vice versa) without closing.

🛠️ Tools you need to know

TP/SL:
It means "Take Profit / Stop Loss". These are tools to automatically close a trade when you gain or lose a certain amount. I didn’t use them, and that was my mistake.

Margin:
The amount you are risking. If the market goes against you and hits the liquidation price, you lose that margin.

Investing:
This has saved me many times. I used it to change the direction of the trade when I saw the price going the other way.

Leverage:
Multiply your position. I used 20x, which is a lot:

  • With 0.36 USDC I could trade as if I had 7.20.

  • If the price went up 1%, I gained 20%.

  • But if it dropped 1%, I lost 20%.

Liquidation price:
If the price reaches that level, you lose all the margin. It happened to me for not setting a limit.

🧠 Realistic conclusion

Yes, you can win in futures. But you can also lose EVERYTHING in seconds. I recommend:

  • Use only what you earned within Binance.

  • Trade carefully and always with limits.

  • Learn to use TP/SL.

  • Never leave a trade open without supervision.

  • Don’t get overconfident just because you’ve won several times.

  • Use only money you can afford to lose.No risking rent or food.

Today I didn't lose real money. I lost a dollar I earned trading. But I gained something better: real experience in futures. And that will serve me much more for what’s coming.
