Ethereum is preparing for the Fusaka hard fork — scalability and gas limits in focus
Ethereum is moving to the next phase of updates: the Fusaka hard fork is scheduled for November 2025, and Glamsterdam is set for approval on August 1.
📌 Fusaka:
— 11 EIPs, including EIP-7825 (protection and scaling)
— Proposal to increase the gas limit to 150 million — this will reduce costs
— EIP-7907 and EVM Object Format excluded to accelerate development
— Devnet-3 starts on July 23, mainnet — in early November
🔄 Following it — Glamsterdam (2026):
— Possible reduction of block time from 12 to 6 seconds — a plus for DeFi
— Gas limit of 45 million is being discussed
— Decisions on EIPs will be finalized on August 1
📌 Context:
The updates strengthen Ethereum's position in competition with Solana and L2.
But the fast pace and centralization of discussions raise questions — especially against the backdrop of preparations for Devconnect.
The market is watching: the success of Fusaka is the foundation for further growth of Ethereum in the DeFi ecosystem.
