A recent report about the cryptocurrency circle sparked discussions. In February, an overseas exchange agent was invited by a sub-agent to shoot a short video in Ximending, Taipei City. However, this turned out to be a premeditated trap, as the agent was immediately surrounded by nine men in black upon arrival at the designated location. The men in black physically assaulted the agent on the spot and brandished knives and guns. Besides forcing him to transfer all his virtual currencies, they also detained the victim for up to a day. The victim accused this group of criminals of targeting the Taiwanese cryptocurrency scene and having committed multiple robberies while still being at large.

Two cases occurred a week apart, with total financial losses reaching 13 million TWD.

The report indicated that on February 15 of this year, the victim was invited by a sub-agent (similar to a multi-level marketing downline) to help shoot a video in Ximending. Upon arriving at the scene, nine men in black immediately surrounded the victim and his wife. In addition to handcuffing the victim and restricting his movement, they also revealed knives, physically assaulted the victim, and pulled out a hidden firearm, threatening the victim. The men in black demanded that the victim hand over all his assets, including virtual currencies.

The victim stated that this group first targeted the victim's friend, and only after the victim's friend was harmed did they approach the victim mentioned in the news a week later. It is reported that the total amount involved in the two cases reached 13 million TWD.

The criminals are ruthless and have a history of offenses.

This group used brutal methods, repeatedly striking the victim's head, causing him to collide with the steel bars of the wall at the scene. The victim suffered severe head injuries and was sent to the hospital for stitches, with his eyes nearly blinded from the beating. Ultimately, he was detained for up to a day, where he not only suffered violence but was also threatened with intimate photos taken by the criminals.

What’s more frightening is that the victim pointed out that this group has already been habitual offenders, using the same tricks to rob multiple different victims in the Taiwanese cryptocurrency circle, yet they have not been apprehended. This incident occurred more than five months ago, and despite reporting to the police, the criminals are still at large.
