A man asked Socrates:

"Should I gain knowledge or earn money to gain respect among people?"

Socrates smiled and said:

"Both!"

The man asked in surprise:

"Why? Isn't gaining knowledge enough?"

Socrates answered very beautifully:

> "Our society consists of two types of people:

1️⃣ Wise people

2️⃣ Foolish people

If you want to gain respect among wise people, gain knowledge, because wise people value your knowledge.

And if you want to gain respect among foolish people, earn wealth, because foolish people value your money.

And if you want to gain respect among both, then gain both knowledge and wealth!"
