To be honest, the mining industry has been changing in the past two years, and various new products have emerged one after another. As an "old miner", I am used to seeing those fancy models on the market, and I am not so enthusiastic about new equipment. But until this Avalon A15pro came into my hands, everything changed.
First Sight · Heavy-duty Warrior with Full Industrial Sense
As soon as I opened the package, A15pro gave me a feeling that "this machine is not simple" - silver-gray metal shell + classic Avalon logo, a calm and technological temperament. The size of the whole machine is 301×192×292mm, and the overall packaging with the power supply is only 15.9 kg, which is not too difficult to carry, and the power supply is also included in the package (good review!).
The dual-fan design on the front looks like it is designed for "violent heat dissipation". The two large 12050 fans tell you: this is not for cuteness, but for work!
Power on · Start the mining engine with roaring sound
Power on, networking, deployment completed, everything goes according to the process. At the moment of power on, the fan whirred and the buzzing sound rushed straight to the roof. The official said the maximum is 75 decibels. Li Yi's editor used a noise meter to measure it, and it is almost at this level. It is recommended to put it in the computer room or balcony, not in the bedroom, unless you really like "white noise" to help you sleep.
Performance test · Real steel beast
The measured stable hash rate is 218T/s, and the fluctuation range is not large (basically within ±1T), which is very stable. Moreover, after 6 hours of continuous operation, the power consumption data has always remained around 3662W. The energy efficiency ratio is the official nominal 16.8 J/TH, which is almost consistent with the official data.
What I want to praise here is the heat dissipation efficiency - at room temperature of 28°C, the temperature of the entire core is maintained between 70~75°C, which is excellent. Although the fan is noisy, it is not for nothing. The air duct is unobstructed, the air output is large, and the heat is taken away cleanly.
User experience · Not fancy, but stability is king
After using it for three days, the biggest feeling of editor Li Yi is two words: solid. This A15pro does not have a fancy smart screen, nor does it have complex function stacking. The UI interface is similar to Avalon's traditional server, which is simple and clear and easy to use.The configuration is simple and the deployment is fast, which is suitable for users who pursue "plug and mine".
