Prince Al-Waleed bin Khaled Al-Saud, famously known as Saudi Arabia’s “Sleeping Prince,” has passed aw@y after spending nearly 20 years in a coma. He fell into the coma in 2005 at the age of 15 after suffering a severe brain !njury in a car acc!dent while studying at a military college in London. Since then, he had been on life support at a hospital in Riyadh, with his family—especially his father, Prince Khalid bin Talal—refusing to give up hope, believing in the possibility of a miracle recovery.
Over the years, minor movements like a slight head turn or hand gesture offered faint glimmers of hope to his loved ones and followers. The prince’s condition drew attention from across the world, with many viewing him as a symbol of perseverance and faith. On July 19, 2025, at the age of 36, he pass€d aw@y peacefully. His funeral prayer was held the following day at Imam Turki bin Abdullah Mosque in Riyadh. Tributes poured in from across the Middle East, and the hashtag #SleepingPrince trended online as people shared their condolences and remembered his extraordinary journey.
