🧠 What is $ICP ?
Internet Computer Protocol ($ICP ) is an ambitious project created by DFINITY, which aims to:
• Create a new decentralized internet, without traditional servers or intermediaries.
• Allow smart contracts to run directly on the network, without relying on AWS, Google Cloud, etc.
In short: it wants to replace the centralized infrastructure of the traditional web. It is a huge, ambitious, and technically complex idea.
💥 Why did it reach a value of $2800?
When it launched (May 2021), it had tremendous hype due to:
• Strong backing (Andreessen Horowitz, Polychain Capital).
• Powerful narrative (“reinventing the internet”).
• It was listed on Binance and Coinbase on the same day of the launch.
• Low initial liquidity + high demand.
⛔ But that price was artificially high. In reality, it launched with an inflated market cap and almost no circulation, which caused the initial price to be enormous ($2800) but not sustainable.
📉 Why did it fall to $5?
1. Massive token release (vesting):
• Early investors and the team began to unlock tokens.
• This flooded the market with supply → extreme downward pressure.
2. Technical complexity and slow implementation:
• Although the project is still alive, it has not achieved significant adoption.
• There are other simpler blockchains (Solana, Avalanche, etc.) that attracted more developers.
3. Loss of market confidence:
• Many saw it as a sophisticated “pump & dump.”
• They fell from the top 10 to obscurity in less than a year.
📊 Is it worth investing in ICP now?
✅ Pros:
• Serious project, with innovative tech.
• Development is still active.
• Community is still engaged.
• Very far from the ATH → could bounce back strongly if interest returns.
❌ Risks:
• Still has not achieved significant adoption.
• Has strong competition (Ethereum, Solana, etc.).
• Many people lost money → damaged reputation.
