What have I learned today; I Finally Understood the Funding Fee after It Drained My Wallet 😓 Traded $ERA token on Binance Futures. I went short, expecting a dip — but boom 💥 it pumped hard, and suddenly: ✍I kept getting funding fee alerts every hour ✍Lost 5+ USDT each hour ✍ My position got crushed, not just by price… but by funding fees That’s when I realized... ✍ Funding fee isn’t based on when you enter. It’s charged globally at fixed times usually every 8 hours, but some hot tokens like ERA are hourly. And worse: ✍ When too many people go short, shorts PAY longs — and funding can explode. 🧠 Lesson I Learned: ✅ Always check the funding rate and schedule before trading ✅ Avoid holding shorts on pumping tokens with hourly funding ✅ If funding is high, it can drain your capital even before the price moves! A few weeks ago, I decided to give Futures trading a try. I made profits in my first trades and became very excited 🤣✌ and even concluded that, "no wonder I find a lot of traders on #P2P with huge sums of usdtz, regretted why no one told me about futures, hoho it's too easy to make money here. The next days, I got liquidated 😱 in seconds after using a leverage of 50 with 40 usdt trading Broccoli tokens (Long) , I had a capital of 150usdt and a margin of 110 on cross. In just a few dips before it's continuous rising, I was already liquidated, got scared 😱 ,sweated,shivered, looked around who can I share with what has just happened, but no one was there,Vowed ever to trade futures again and that very night, I couldn't sleep. After few days, I asked myself how do these people I see posting futures cards with,500,1k + profits do it? What was my mistakes? tried to learn, and I came to know certain things, as follows; 1.With little capital (margin) , you might not survive in futures trading, 2.High leverage with little margin left equals to liquidation if the token goes against you a little. 3.Since you have little capital, you want to grow it faster faster, therefore you neglect stop loss, liquidation. 4.Leverage amplifys both sides, losses and profits, since you're new, you're already glued to the screen watching each move,huge losses, emotions kick in, and fear of liquidation makes you close in small losses. 5.Lack of knowledge, but even with knowledge, things can play you. . the trend is clear, indicators are positive, it's a sure LONG, it's even moving, Once you enter, wallah it reverses immediately or pulls back, you hate seeing huge losses, you either close or get liquidated. After you've closed or liquidated, then the things recovers and even exceeds your was taking TP target. There's a lot of psychology here and more and more My advice

If your capital is small like mine and you wanna trade futures, avoid high volatility tokens like $ORCA , $PENGU ,$VIRTUAL and meme tokens, immediately you buy with your high leverage,it will pull back a little just to wipe you out and then countinues without you. #MemecoinSentiment #TradingStrategyMistakes
