🇺🇸📢 U.S. Marshals Service Confirms Holding Only 28,988 Bitcoin Following FOIA Request
🌟 The U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) has confirmed it currently holds 28,988 BTC, valued at approximately $3.45 billion. 🌟 This figure is significantly lower than Arkham’s estimate of 198,000 BTC (over $23.6 billion). The information was disclosed through a Freedom of evolves Act (FOIA) request. ⚠️ Note that the USMS primarily manages assets that have been legally seized and have become official U.S. government property. 🌟 The Bitcoin list provided by the USMS only includes BTC that has officially become government property. 🌟 Not all seized assets are managed by the USMS; for example, some may be held by other agencies such as: – The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) – The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) 🌟 It’s also worth noting that government wallets on Arkham’s platform do not necessarily mean all displayed BTC is legally government-owned; many of these wallets contain BTC that has not yet been officially seized. 🌟 For example, Arkham shows 94,000 BTC from the Bitfinex hack, but the seizure in this case has not yet been finalized. 🌟 As of now, there is no clear evidence that the remaining BTC has been sold. We must await further information.
