XRP Futures Set Record, Global Demand Soars Driving CME Volume to Exceed $1.6 Billion

CME Group's XRP and Micro XRP futures set a new record on July 11, with a nominal trading volume exceeding $235 million, pushing the total trading volume since launch past $1.6 billion. These products were officially launched on May 19, 2025, offering cash-settled contracts based on the CME XRP/USD reference rate, available in standard (50,000 XRP) and micro (2,500 XRP) contract sizes. On July 11, more than 9,100 contracts were traded, equivalent to over 82 million XRP.

CME stated that 45% of the XRP futures trading volume came from regions outside North America, reflecting strong global interest. On the same day (July 14), Canadian asset management firm 3iQ announced that its XRPQ ETF assets under management had surpassed $50 million, achieving significant growth in less than a month since its launch.
