Every cell in our body contains an astonishing molecular structure in its nucleus: DNA. This chain, coiled thousands of times to fit into a microscopic space, measures about 2 meters when fully extended. Now, considering that the human body has around 37 trillion cells, the total length of the DNA contained in a single person exceeds 74 billion kilometers.
To put this into perspective, that distance would allow a trip from the Sun to Pluto and back more than 7 times. Although this calculation is often rounded to "100 billion kilometers" due to its impact, the actual figure is already sufficiently colossal by itself.
This extraordinary length of DNA not only evidences the complexity of life but also reminds us of something fascinating: we carry within us a vast molecular library, so extensive that, in terms of length, it rivals distances in the solar system.
