Taiwan KOL made a slip, 75,000 USD disappeared
A Solana address starting with 4X43D recently destroyed 10,000,000 $PUMP tokens, and the Solscan page shows this is equivalent to destroying tokens worth 75,000 USD. $PUMP is the leading platform for meme coin issuance on Solana, which recently opened public sales on-chain and on major exchanges. Players who completed purchases on-chain would receive tokens, but they are still in a non-transferable state. Pumpfun just held a public sale with a market capitalization of 4 billion USD and raised 600 million USD in just a few minutes. Why would anyone destroy tokens?
The answer is revealed, the address belongs to Taiwan's crypto player CryptoCharming. CryptoCharming is a researcher at SuDo Research and is also known on Twitter for project investigations and meme coins.
The clown turned out to be Charming himself
It turns out that although $PUMP tokens cannot be transferred, they can be destroyed. At the time of the incident, CryptoCharming was using the destruction function of the trading tool Axiom to organize the meme coins in his wallet. He even found it amusing when he saw others posting about it, only to realize upon closer inspection that it was his own wallet address. Analysis afterward suggested that $PUMP was classified as an unknown token and was therefore cleared with one click.
From the on-chain records, it can be seen that the address kept clearing tokens and closing accounts before and after the incident (the author adds: holding tokens on Solana incurs a storage fee, which can be reclaimed when the tokens are no longer in that address). After the destruction incident went viral, someone sent CryptoCharming $BURNP tokens worth as much as 15,000 USD, but he said he was afraid of market crashes and online backlash, so he chose to destroy the tokens.
