WalletConnect Token ($WCT ) is the native token of the WalletConnect network, launched on the Optimism mainnet in September 2024, with an initial supply cap of 1 billion tokens. The project conducted token sales through platforms such as Binance Launchpool, CoinList, and Echo, raising a total of $10 million, with Echo's $5 million private sale selling out in just 11 seconds. The funds are used to develop Reown AppKit and WalletKit SDK, enhancing the on-chain user experience. WCT is used for network governance, staking rewards, and potential future service fees, with 18.5% allocated for airdrops, 27% to the WalletConnect Foundation, and the remainder for the team, early supporters, and core development. The token is initially non-transferable to ensure its use within the ecosystem and promote the long-term development of a decentralized network
